Aricept Drug Rep Promo Coffee Cup Yellow Pharmaceutical Advertising Banned Gifts. This is a coffee cup that was given to the psychiatric clinic I worked for from 1996-2009. I am unsure of the year it was given to us, but I would think it would have been in the first year of it being on the market, which was 1996, as these were gifts given to physicians and the medical community to promote new meds and encourage physicians to prescribe the med. This type of gift giving was banned in 2009, as it was viewed as a bribe by the government. This cup is in great condition with no chips or cracks. There is some fading to one spot on the rim and a small area of discoloration inside the cup on the bottom. See photos for condition details.
