Medium size apothecary jar with original stopper and embossed markings 250 FRANCE on the base. This narrow neck druggist bottle was intended for liquids like tinctures and this type of shop bottles were sometimes offered as “Round Shoulder Prescriptions”. Our bottle has round shoulder and one vertical seam line on each side up to the neck base where it disappears. Embossed druggist bottles with this discontinuous vertical side mold seams are referred to as “mouth-blown” or “hand-made”. I’m told it was made between about 1820 and 1915. Dimensions: 2 ¼ inches across and 7 1/2 inches tall including the stopper. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No damage that I can find. Light cloudiness due to age. The stopper is ‘stuck in place’ because I don’t want to pull too hard trying to remove it. Guaranteed clean smoke-free environment. All my items come from a smoke free home! ** I do my best to look items over for any imperfections – Unless noted, everything I list is free of RIPS, STAINS, or TEARS ** Feel free to contact me with any questions!
