The 1986 Burroughs Wellcome Pill Tile is a replica of a pharmacist’s tool used for dispensing pills. This off-white glazed ceramic earthenware tile features a Delft blue design and measures 5-7/8 x 5-7/8 x 1/8 inches. It commemorates the September 1986 tile issue number B-920 and was manufactured in Holland. The tile serves as a collectible piece in recognition of the pharmacist diagnosing theme, with the Burroughs Wellcome Co. as the sponsor. A unique addition to any science, medicine, or pharmaceutical collection, this pill tile reflects historical significance and craftsmanship.
One jar has a chip on the foot and on the rim of the lid inside, which is not visible on display. In two jars, the lids fit quite snugly.
