Brand new and never opened but an antique treasure that’s hard to find! Lilly’s Pituitary Extract, Obstetrical – six ampoules – has pencil writing on the front of the box (11C) as shown in the photos – smoke free home The fact that this has never been opened and extremely rare to find, if at all, makes this a very unique piece for collectors. Pituitary extract was historically used in obstetrics to stimulate uterine contractions and manage complications like postpartum hemorrhage. Eli Lilly and Company, a pharmaceutical company based in Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S.A., produced this medication. Pituitary extract has since been replaced by safer and more effective alternatives in modern obstetric practice.
You will notice the 11.7g weight makes it steady on the shelf while still feeling light.
