This is a very rare pair of late 17th-century Savona Italian Majolica Albarello Pharmacy Bottles. Each with the original Savona shield mark to the base. The second bottle may have contained seeds, or a mixture made from the seeds, of wild celery (Apium graveolens).

This is a superb large French porcelain hand painted and gilded Apothecary Jar and cover which dates, I would guess, from the late 18th. In a cylindrical form topped with a knopped conical cover, decorated with copious hand painted gilded images of a foliate swags, the Caduceus (two snakes wrapped around a winged staff), and what looks to be a mortar above, and gilded banding throughout.

A fine quality antique Georgian bronze apothecary / pharmacy mortar in good used condition. Dimensions: Mortar: 8.1 cm high x 13.3 cm diameter Base has concentric circles and a lathe mortise mark suggesting that the mortar was turn finished after casting.
